Why is it asking me for a username and password?
After clicking on the Report Upgrade tab, the screen prompts you for a username and password. This occurs because your browser is blocking session cookies for Report Upgrade, if you turn off the blocking and allow session cookies, you should not receive the prompt for a username or password again.
Why do I only see a blank page when I open Report Upgrade?
If you are seeing a blank page and not seeing any initial options page, then it is possible that your firewall has blocked our registration form. This form should appear the first time Report Upgrade is opened. In this instance, please contact your IT Team to allow Report Upgrade's registration form to appear. Once the form is filled out and submitted, you should see the initial setup starting.
Why do I get a Salesforce session ID error when I open Report Upgrade?
Report Upgrade utilizes your current Salesforce session to query data and send it back to your screen. If your organization enforce ‘Lock sessions to the IP address from which they originated’, Salesforce will not allow our server to use your session for query purpose. This will end up causing the session ID error. In order for Report Upgrade to work within your Salesforce organization, this security setup needs to be turned off.
Why do I get an API error when I open Report Upgrade?
In order to use Report Upgrade, you need to have API enabled for Professional Edition. Enterprise and Unlimited editions already have API enabled. You can contact Salesforce support to enable it for you. There will be some extra cost to it but they normally enable it for free to start with.
Can Report Upgrade display data from many child objects with the same parent object?
Yes, both Dashboard Builder and Report Builder can display data from many different child objects with the same parent.
Can unrelated objects be displayed on the same report or dashboard?
Yes, both Dashboard Builder and Report Builder can link/join data from unrelated objects.
Does Report Upgrade work with custom objects?
Yes, Report Upgrade works with both standard and custom objects. Also standard and custom fields. As long as it’s visible in API, it will be accessible by Report Upgrade.
Does Report Upgrade work with external data sources?
Yes, Report Upgrade works with external data sources. Currently, it supports flat file and major RDBMS like MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgresSQL and MySQL. External apps through API access is currently not supported.
Do you store our Salesforce data on your server?
No, Report Upgrade is a real-time tool. It queries your most current data in real-time. Each time a dashboard/report got loaded or a click triggering interactions, it fetches the most current data from the data sources. The only exception is the flat file uploaded. If you choose to upload a flat file (CSV) file as your data source, we do store the file on our servers.
Can I save reports in PDF format?
Yes, Report Upgrade report could be saved in several different formats including PDF, Excel and several other formats.
Can I schedule reports to send in email?
Yes, our Report Bursting module provides users one time or recurring schedule capability to send reports as an attachment by emails. The reports could also be customized based on user profiles.
Can the report be print on a certain size of paper nicely?
Yes, each report created by Report Builder need to have a paper size selected. The paper size will be used for report rendering and print.
Can I add our logo to the report? Change color or font size?
Yes, our Report Builder provides advanced report formatting capability, like images, background, font, font size, color... and document merge. You can format your report to look like a document or look like a typical pixel-perfect report.
Can I do multiple sections, multiple column grouping, or multiple column sorting?
Yes, our Report Builder provides multiple section capability. You can create as many groups as you need. Each section grouped by different field and sorted by different fields.
Can I customize email content based on user profiles?
Yes, not only you can customize the report based on user profiles you can do the same for email subject and body content.
Can I do drill down or drill through on dashboards?
Yes, drill down and drill through can be achieved by using component interactions.
Can I display the detail records behind a summarized number on the dashboard?
Yes, this can be achieved by using component interaction.
How is the performance of Report Upgrade dashboard?
Our dashboard does higher level simple queries most of the time. Each query could only return one single number. It’s very fast on both Salesforce size and Report Upgrade side to process. Compared to traditional tool getting detail rows first then summarized to the total number, our dashboard runs much efficiently in most of the cases.
Can I compare my actual to goal?
Yes, most of the components support measure display has an option to choose a goal to compare to. It could be from a custom goal object or simply previous time period data to compare to. It’s a separated measure for you to select.
Can I do cross-object calculations?
Yes, all the components supporting measure display also support cross-object or cross-data source calculation. You can define a formula to calculate values from the different object or data source.
Can our non-Salesforce users or partners view Report Upgrade dashboards/reports?
Yes, our External User Portal provides the place for your non-Salesforce users to view reports or dashboards.
Can we display Report Upgrade dashboard on Lightning pages?
Yes, our Lightning components give you the capability to display the entire dashboard or single component on any Lightning page.
Can we display Report Upgrade dashboard on Homepage in the classic environment?
Yes, our you can incorporate Report Upgrade Visualforce page into your homepage to display when the page loaded.
Can we setup different dashboard to load on open for different group of users?
Yes, bookmark is setup at individual user level. Each user could have their own dashboard to display on open. Users’ bookmarks could be managed by users themselves or by administrator inside user management module.
